2010-10-02-Meeting to introduce Ivan Henrigues

2010-10-02

These are not offical minutes.  The official minutes were taken by the Treasurer.

Meeting of the committee, asked for by the Bar Owner and granted by the President.

Purpose: To introduce the would be purchaser of the Bar to the Committee of the Comunidad de Propertarios.

Present were: President M. Taunton, Treasurer P. Hopkins, Secretary P. Ainger. Phil Simpkin, Pat Olive,Sonia Evans, Jean Titterton, Shelagh Shaw, Lynne Jemenez, & Pedro?  Also present were R. Morans, M.Edgerton and Ivan Henrigues.

Bob introduced Mr. Henrigues by saying to all present "This is Ivan and he is interested in the bar"
He then asked if a contract would be forthcoming to the new owner.  (assuming it goes ahead)

Mo said "We cannot answer that question today, but we are willing to talk with him"

Bob explained that Ivan was willing to buy the furniture etc from him and take over the running of the bar.

It was stated that the termination of one contract and the start of a new contract would coincide.

It was agreed by those present to give a contract to Ivan and not to put it out to tender.  Paco turned up half way through the meeting - he and Pedro talkind in Spanish for 3-4 minutes.  Peter translated what was said.  (I can't remember)

It is not as simple as changing the names on the draft contract at the lawyers, some clauses would have to be changed, mainly concerning anyone actually living on the terrace; as against someone occuping the wooden shed as a night watchman.  Ivan stated that he was willing to employ Steve and pay his social Security.  Bob stated that the bar had not had any problems while Steve had been looking after the place.

Pedro asked what he (Ivan) would be bringing to the community.  Ivan asked him what he meant.  Pedro then said "such as food, entertainment etc".  It was pointed out to Pedro that Bob had supplied all these things and the Spanish Mi-Sol owners had never been to the bar.  Pedro then stated that he did not want strangers to be able to use the bar.

Ivan asked if anyone could give him a rough estimate of how much electricity the bar used over a period of time.
I think Peter said he would be able to tell him that.

The president is going to the lawyers on Monday.  They will be asked to draw up a draft contract to present and talk over with Ivan.

Ivan then gave the President his particulars to give to the lawyer.

The committee were then asked if they wanted to go ahead with the contract or wait.  It was agreeded to go ahead as quickly as possible.

Meeting ended.
