You will be glad to know that the security guard, lifeguard and cleaning team all seem to be doing a good job. The pool is spotlessly clean and really quiet, I am obviously not at the pool all day long, but I do ask people what has been going on. Apparently the security is making sure that no-one without a pool card is allowed in. The lifeguard is making sure that swimmers take a shower before getting into the pool. The ex-wannabee president seems to have recovered from the hassle? he was getting and is busy painting the walls around the outside of the pool, which is looking tons better.
We have been free of mosquitoes since I arrived in May, but they are back with a vengeance at the moment. Walking to the bar on Thursday (Karaoke with Tony, extremely good music played) without any mosquito repellent on (stop smiling, I know you know what's coming!) I was bitten to pieces, about 15 on my back alone. Sooooo, anyone arriving in the next few days, plaster that repellent on or suffer the consequences.
Mi Amiga y yo, decided to go and visit the Salt Museum (go out the back gate, under the bridge and it is the first building on the left). Lovely and cool inside, the exhibits were interesting and they play a video in Spanish first and then in England.
We went on to the new Natural History Museum (carry on from the Salt Museum, cross the road and it is the first building on the right.) Torrevieja has only just opened this Museum, they have had a collection of very interesting shells donated, of various colours, sizes etc. The skeletons of several aquatic animals are on show with details of what they were (before they died) and where they were found etc. Obviously nothing like a long established museum, but if you are at a loose end at any time..........
The third touristy thing we did was to catch the runaround train down by the tourist market on the front in Torrevieja. The train took us down around the new marina and a lovely trip more or less to La Mata, for the grand sum of 3 Euros I was well impressed.
Well, as I don't have anything interesting or otherwise to tell you, so I am off to the pool.
As I've Matured........
I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
