Hi Misolites,
I am still down in sunny Essex, with family and friends, waiting to go shopping in Maldon.
I have received two more posts which I have been asked to publish.
The first one is below and is from Tommy Woods
I will put the next one from Bob Morans in its own post box.
Keep the drink flowing only 3 more days and a new decade starts!!!
adios and best wishes for the New Year.

Hello Pat
Can you please put out the following on your Mi Sol Diary:
" Although present, I did not vote at the last AGM election and I believe at least one other person,and possibly others,failed to vote. So the claim that 112 signed- in, and 112 voted is false-despite the assertion that the results were verified by the lawyers, and 2 other sets of people on Mi Sol. There were supposedly 4 independent recounts,one apparently showing 29 votes out,but what did the others show? The President was tasked with speaking to the lawyer; by default it is impossible for the President to be independent of the voting process,which she should be.
All previous voting at the AGM has been by show of hands.However this time,with no notice,we were told that to avoid ofending the sensibilities of some Misolites who might see their supposed friends voting against them,ballot papers were issued containing 9 names.
Thee is no minuted record of this new procedure being evaluated,discussed and documented by the Committee prior to the AGM.Indeed a Committee member later confirmed to me that this was the case.
According to the Secretary/Treasurer 66 voting slips were issued.By definition this means that more than one person had to vote on a ballot paper.This is nonsense. As a simple example,if you have one voting slip on which 2 people voted,one for candidate A and the other for candidate B,how do you know 2 people voted on that voting paper? There should have been one slip per voter,i.e. 122 ballot papers.It is an unheard of procedure to have more than one voter casting a vote on a single ballot paper. Worse still,the voting slips were not numbered or sealed,neither were they indentifiable to individuals or casa owners,there was no passport number or signature.Therefore the ability to replace,amend,substitute,remove or add voting slips is unlimited. The whole process was a farce.
There should be an EGM to throw out the last election results and new elections held; transparent,democratic and overseen and counted by non-participants in the voting process. If by ballot,it must be on the basis of:
1) One person,one vote;
2) The ballot paper to show the name,passport number and casa number of the voter;
3) The ballot paper to be signed and sealed;
4) The ballot papers to be opened and counted by people totally independent of the voting
process.Then cross checked.
On other issues,there was no Vice-Presidential vote.However I understand an appointment has been made by the President.But this is not an appointment the President can make,it is an AGM decision.
Also,following the merger with "the other side" there was no discussion of the 26,000-odd euros owed by them to their lawyer (?) Juan Lavado.This must not be paid out of Mi Sol Funds,but paid by the individuals who engaged him.
Finally,the office phone has been done away with,for the first time in 30-odd years,but the Secretary/Treasurer/VP has a mobile paid for by us. Why?
