2011-10-21 - Information

Hi Misolites,

I have taken off my office hat and the opinions below are entirely my own (for what they are worth)
It is now nearly a month since the new committee have been voted in.  Thanks to the over the top childish behaviour of our ex-treasurer, nothing is as easy as it should have been.

We have people coming to the office asking why Mi-Sol does not have a gardener, we try to explain that there isn’t enough money in the bank (8000.00E approx 21/10/11) to pay a gardener.  The next question is obvious, where has the money gone, and we have to answer, that until we get the invoices for 2011 (missing at the moment) and the database up to date, we don’t know.

The new database bought apparently at a cost of 500 Euros is a open source database available free on the internet.  Therefore we can only assume that the 500 Euros was paid to someone to set the database up.....What was wrong with the one we already had??

The other obvious place money has been spent is on lamp posts installed up through the middle of the Park.  I say UP, as there aren’t any at the bottom end of the park or over on the far side next to La Florida .  Why do owners who only frequent the park on a very ad hoc basis need 24/7 night lights (14 at my last count) outside their property?   With the cost of Electricity going up again in January, I would have thought it was irresponsible to use our community fees to top up the Electricity paid by owners to Iberdrola.  Our last bill was 13,000.00+ Euros.

The pool is leaking like a sieve, we have been told by a community owner that it is losing approximately
9 cubic metres a day, I don’t really know how much that is, but it sounds a lot.  The consensus seems to be that the pipes are the main suspect.  There are tiles coming up from the bottom of the pool which will need to be sorted out.    Ahhh well, as they say onward and upward.

The tenants of you know who, are quite decent people, but their culture is not our culture.  The vice president has been to see them and with the help of an interpreter managed to get the bulk of the rubbish around the side of 620 cleared up.  There still seems to be a problem with vans and cars’ coming on site at all different hours, but again until there is some money in the pot, what can be done?

There was a court case at the beginning of the month....L*** took Mi-Sol Park to court for negligence due to the fact that he fell?? off the ladder while painting the transformer tower.  The outcome was Mi-Sol Park lost the case and he was awarded 5500 Euros.....money we can ill afford to pay.  I wonder if the previous administration had taken out Insurance for just this sort of eventuality.  We can only hope.

With the help of two community members I have been accessing the database to get everything ready for 2012.  With the help of the ex-treasurer (who has ignored all phone calls, emails etc) this would have been a painless task.

As an aside, would the moron who has mistaken the area behind our wall as a doggie poo dumping ground, please be advised that all doggie doo’s should be disposed of in an adult way............

If only life were that simple........Live life and enjoy........adios for now.......
