I have arrived back at Mi-Sol Park from Sunny (not) Blackpool. The only thing I have discovered is that DTT has had it's day. That is Democracy, Truth and Transpancy NOT the stuff that kills insects. (or, did I have it right the first time?)
Why do people with a little bit of power seem to have a need to hide the truth, cover all the windows so as you can't see in and then manipulate other persons to their own (??) ends? I really don't have any answers, it just seems such a shame. The community spirit that was alive and well when I first arrived at Mi-Sol Park over 10 years ago, seems to be hiding in the shadows. People are wary of saying the wrong(?) thing to the wrong(?) people. We are nearly all of us in our 3rd age now, I would have thought that the majority of educated, literate people would have learnt to get along together, work together and do what ever is necessary to improve or at the very least keep level the welfare of Mi-Sol Park, but again maybe I am wrong.
Many people have asked me why I did not put my name forward for election to the committee. I have numerous reasons.
1. The results published on the official blog misolpress.blogspot.co.uk speak for themselves. The reason Jean only garnered 20 votes is because the spanish members and the proxies given to whoever did not vote for her. I have it on very good authority that the spanish members who attended the EGM were giving their voting slips to the old wannabe pres. who then filled them in, handed them back to the members who then proceeded to put them into the voting container.
2. I emailed OUR lawyers before the EGM was called and asked them when the resolutions taken at the AGM came into effect. Their answer was "all resolutions are adopted when the minutes have been published and entered into the actas book" So far to date, I have not seen a copy of the minutes of the AGM. So the voting which agreed a closed vote for committee members is not part of our regime as yet!!
3. I asked myself if I really wanted to work with people who constantly lie to you. The answer I gave myself was "actually no!"...
4. I have worked in the office for the last 10 years, I have helped Pepe, Neill and our present president.
If my help is not wanted I would have preferred to have been told instead of all this messing about. What did it cost Mi-Sol Park to call an EGM? who are the 25% who asked for it? Many people complained about the secrecy of previous presidents, many members of Mi-Sol Park fought for the right to sit in committee meetings, to have all monies paid through a bank, to have detailed accounts produced and many, many other things to numerous to mention. It now seems that if your opinion is different to that of the committee's, or if you have knowledge that they do not want to hear, you are not permitted to speak!
Anyway, on that happy note I shall leave you all in peace for a while.

One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift...
