Hi Misolites.
Well a few things to tell you, the weather is great, really nice, hot enough to enjoy being in it but not so hot that you are exhausted by it.
A member of the comunity's son was brought on to the park by the police in handcuffs. There was a chinese girl involved but other than that there isn't any other information available.
I have been given the cheque and petty cash records for September to December 2009 so I can get my records up to date.
I had a meeting with the treasurer and president last Wednesday and we have agreed the incoming and outgoing totals that match the bank statement. Hooray, I would have looked a complete fool had my figures been wrong, but hey, take the humble pie away it was an honest mistake and the auditor should have picked it up and informed our treasurer. (Who is doing a great job)
The next meeting is tomorrow, when the bar owner and the committee will be meeting in the office at 2.00pm
I was told today by a comunity member that another comunity member is going around to different houses trying to get enough signatories together to force an E.G.M. Her reason for trying to call an E.G.M is that apparently she was told that a community member was intimidated by a committee nominee into voting for them. . If this is accurate information, I would suggest that she denounces the aggressor for all our sakes. I really hope for the sake of Mi-Sol park that she doesn't succeed in her aim of calling an E.G.M. This is exactly the sort of mad petty mindedness that started the last split which lasted for 7 years!!!!
The only members of the committee that have any power and who need to be voted on at the A.G.M are:- The President, The Secretary and The Treasurer. The Post of Vice-President is discretionary, but as Mi-Sol is quite a large comunidad it makes common sense to appoint someone who is privy to the workings of the above three positions and is able to sign cheques should anything untoward happen to the President. The rest of the committee are there on a purely voluntary basis and unless they undertake some form of assistance to the above four members there is no need for them to be on the committee. A committee should be made up of different people with different points of view in order to get the best result for the good of Mi-Sol Park. I would have thought anyone with any sense could see that...but...maybe not!!!
The swimming pool is being made use of. We have a budding olympic team in training for the 2020 Olympics. They go by the name of the Mi-Sol Mermaids. Photos have been taken, but I haven't been given them as yet.
Will try and find time to write some more tomorrow, off out now for a scrummy meal.
