I have been asked to write something on the blog about Debt Collecting. There has been quite a bit of discussion in the bar and at other places regarding this matter. As we no longer have the monthly (or even 3 monthly) meetings, and as most of the people making these remarks do not wish to write a letter to the committee it has come back to me to write something on the blog.
I think the majority of people would like to take the attitude that "if they are not paying, why should I?" At the same time they realise that if we all took that attitude then Mi-Sol Park would not exist.
The biggest debtor when I was on the committee was the "lady" who owns the Villa, caravans and flats. Although she did pay about 4 or 5 years ago, to my knowledge there hasn't been any payments since. This is a lady running a profitable business at our (the people that DO pay) expense. We have several Spanish owners who simply don't pay, and of course the other debtors of different nationalities.
Mi-Sol Park employ a lawyer who presumably has been instructed to take these people to court. The problem being that the courts in Spain are extremely slow and quite lienient with debtors. (Not their money after all.) Again, whilst I was on the committee, factoring (posh name for selling debts on) was talked about but no-one seemed to know much about it.

I shall be putting a letter into the committee re: putting Debt Collection on the Agenda for the next AGM. If anyone, has any suggestions or information on collecting from the debtors of Mi-Sol Park then I am sure the present committee would appreciate being informed. Maybe there are a group of persons who would like to dress up and try and embarass the debtors of Mi-Sol Park. Please feel free to offer your services to the committee
