2010-02-28-Security on Mi-Sol Park

Hi Misolites

The main topic of conversation at the moment seems to be the security (or lack of it) on Mi-Sol Park.

Rumours abound (can't you see them jumping up and down (no, not on a trampoline, please concentrate)). A security guard in a yellow jacket and a flashlight at the top of the site, an elite band of SAS complete with machine guns by the time it reaches the bottom of the site. A notice outlining the new procedures in force would have been helpful...but heigh ho...nowt to do with me!!

A certain Mi-Solite was reduced to tears trying to explain that she was a bona-fide resident of the park. Another Mi-Solite arrived around 11.30pm in the company of two friends who do not live on the park and was waved through.

Four Misolites reported that they arrived back at the park on two consecutive nights (Friday & Saturday) at about 12.30 to find a empty sentry box, (Vigilante Station) with the light on.

I personally saw several persons of unknown origin limboing? under the gate right under the nose of our vigilante. He was writing something down, I think it was points out of 10 for the competitors sorry wouldbe burglars.

Soooo, some clarification by the committee might be helpful.

Is the security guard accosting legitimate owners entering Mi-Sol Park or is he not??
Is the security guard taking car registration numbers or is he not??
Is the security guard a man or a 15year old boy??
Is a certain ex-wannabee president receiving payment or not??
Is this person trained in security procedures?
Does he have a revolver or just the sub machine gun?
Does he have a fire in his box or full central heating and AC?
Does he have a chandelier to illuminate his box or just a plain old lightbulb?
Does he have carpet on the floor or run of the mill tiles?
When will the curtains be arriving?
Does anyone actually do this job or is it just a joke?

Of course, you will have noticed that no-one (from the committee) ever answers any questions (no matter where they are asked), so don't hold your breath on all the above, in fact, I would be quite happy for someone to make the answers up!!

Does anyone think it would be a good idea for web cams to be installed around the Park at random and then anyone on the internet could monitor the entrance, the bar or anywhere else. Compared to paying a security guard, I would have thought (although I haven't looked into it, oi! don't tell me to shut up until I have my facts straight) that it would be cheaper in the long run.

Rumour has it that the security person employed by Mi-Sol (or self employed, who knows as no information is forthcoming) is a tenant of the old wannabee president and a relative of the lady who lives in the caravans beside Clara's villa and used to clean for the bar many years ago. No wonder everyone knows what is going on around and about.

Another interesting piece of info was passed on to me by a Mi-Solite, namely that when going into the office to inquire about Hazel's address (in order to leave a card) before the Treasurer could reply, the taximan told my friend not only the number of Hazel's house but also the time of her funeral. It seems strange to me, that a person who only 6 months ago was causing all sorts of problems for Mi-Sol Park is permitted into the hallowed inner sanctum of the Mi-Sol Office when bona fide committee members elected at an AGM are prevented from entering the same office under the pretext that everyone who has a key is too busy to get another one cut!!!

I myself drove onto Mi-Sol Park at midnight Saturday 27th February, the light was on in the sentry box (where was the sentry?) no-one came out to challenge my right to enter Mi-Sol Park. So what is the use of a part time security person at 5.00 Euros per hour??

Don't tell me, the site is going down the pan!!
